Time: Evening respite is available on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3.00pm to 9.00pm.
These sessions are especially utilised by younger disabled adults aged 19-55 years who enjoy a social gathering. The Waratah Respite Centre has encouraged this social club atmosphere for the younger adult clients - somewhere to chat to staff and friends on two evenings a week. While Waratah especially caters for the younger age group in these sessions, all carers include those of frail aged and disabled clients can access these times according to individual needs.
Funding: Evening sessions are funded by National respite for Carers Program, an Australian Government Initiative.
A contribution is requested to cover expenses.
The current contribution is $10 which covers transport, meals, and activities.
No person is denied a service if they are unable to contribute.
